Luverne, AL : After two seasons at the helm of the Satsuma Gators, veteran head coach Scott Rials will take the rains at Luverne High School.

Rials will replace former University of Alabama head coach Mike DuBose who resigned, after his second stint at LHS, in February.   DuBose is expected to coach linebackers for the Opp Bobcats next season.

The Auburn University at Montgomery graduate began his coaching career at his alma mater, South Montgomery County Academy.  After spending a decade as an assistant, Rials became the head coach at his alma mater, leading the Raiders to four AISA playoff appearances including a western division title in 2000.

The Montgomery County native added three back-to-back AHSAA 2A state championships to his resume during his 9 year 70-35 run at Elba High School.

Rials completed his second season at Satsuma in 2014, leading the Gators to a 6-4 record in his final season.

Rials brings a combined head coaching record of 124-69 over 17 seasons.
