Interceptions seal victory for Eagles in Cahaba Valley showdown

Birmingham, AL : The Oak Mountain Eagles improved to 2-3 with dominating win Friday night at Lions Pride Stadium.

Fred Yancey’s Lions (1-4) threatened late in the third but a snap over the the head of BCS quarterback William Grey netted a 39 yard loss and handed the ball and the momentum back to Oak Mountain.

Oak Mountain’s Hall Morton accounted for two INT’s, the first on the Lions opening drive.   Mitchell Jones added a 27 yard pick-six in the second quarter.

Briarwood Junior quarterback William Gray lead the Lions through the air and on the ground completing 17 of 32 passes for a total of 132 yards and six interceptions.  On the ground, Grey rushed the ball 13 times for 32 yards.

Senior Lions receiver Luke Dyson hauled in four Grey passes for total of 71 yards.

The Oak Mountain offense ended the night with 392 total yards while holding the Lions to 185 on the night.

The 7A Eagles hold a 3-1 all time record against the 6A Lions.
