St. John Paul II Hires Longtime College Assistant

Huntsville, AL – After spending 35 years in the college football ranks former Army and Louisiana-Monroe interim head coach John Mumford is taking his experience to the Rocket City’s St. John Paul II Falcons football program.

SJP2 has a record of 6-33 in four seasons, including a 1-9 mark last season.  The Falcons actually came up win-less on the field last season but were awarded a forfeit victory over Huntsville’s J.O. Johnson for playing an ineligible player.

Mumford has served as the interim head coach following Todd Berry’s exit at Army (0-7) and Louisiana-Monroe (1-3).  He also served as the head coach at Southeast Missouri State (40-60) from 1990-1999.
