John Carroll forced to give up gridiron wins

Birmingham, AL – The John Carroll Cavaliers football season now stands at 0-10.  The Cavs were tagged by the AHSAA, for the second time in 2016, for playing an ineligible player.

The AHSAA levied the punishment on Friday, forcing the Cavs to forfeit wins over Springville and Moody in addition to a year of probation and a monetary fine.

With the Cavs two victories wiped off the board, their loosing skid now stands at 20 games.  John Carroll last tasted victory on the gridiron on October 31, 2014 in a 6-3 win over the Springville Tigers.

JCHS was placed on restrictive probation in early 2016 for self reported recruiting violations but the penalties were later reversed by the AHSAA.

The Cavaliers join Prattville, Lee-Montgomery, Mobile Christian, Alabama Christian, New Brockton and Ellwood Christian in being forced to forfeit victories due to playing ineligible student athletes.
