Kaci McClendon Named The Alexander Shunnarah Scholar Athlete of The Year

Leeds, AL – Leeds High School senior student-athlete Kaci McClendon has been named the WABM My68 Scholar Athlete of the year, the station announced on Thursday.

Along with being Scholar Athlete of the year, Kaci received a $3,000 scholarship from the Alexander Shunnarah Personal Injury Attorneys.

The award recognizes the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition in the Birmingham metro area.

Kaci holds a 4.4 GPA and will attend Troy University in the Fall to major in Nursing. A varsity softball player since the 7th grade, Kaci also works as a student aid at Leeds Primary School and volunteers at the Leeds Jane Culbreth Library. Along with Bradley Gillespie, Kaci has become the second person from Leeds to be awarded the Scholar Althlete of the year award this year.
