White named Homewood volleyball coach

Homewood, AL – Homewood assistant Krimson White has been named the Patriots next head volleyball coach.  

White, a former Homewood High volleyball standout, will take over for departing coach Carol Chesnutt.  

Chesnutt is ending her second stint as Patriots head coach.  During her first run with the Patriots she lead Homewood to the the AHSAA class 5A volleyball finals in 2005 and a class 6A Elite Eight appearance in 2009.

After a four year sabbatical, Chesnutt returned to the court for two seasons.  During her second run as Patriots head coach she brought in 2011 Homewood alumni and recent University of Alabama graduate Krimson White.  White served as a varsity assistant under her former head coach for two seasons, helping lead the Patriots to a 14-17 campaign in 2016.

White will be assisted by former University of Kentucky player Cynthia Padgett, wife of Samford University head basketball coach Scott Padgett.
