Thompson rips James Clemens 38-7

Alabaster, AL – The Thompson Warriors (1-0) kicked off the 2018 gridiron season with a 38-7 drubbing of the James Clemens Jets (0-1) in the AHSAA Champions Challenge at Montgomery’s Cramton Bowl.  

Alabama commit Taulia Tagovailoa passed for 387 yards four scores to lead the second ranked Warriors over the top 10 Jets.  

Warrior running back Shadrick Byrd rushed for 64 yards on 14 carries and a score while Michael Pettway hauled in five catches for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns.  

James Clemens quarterback Jamil Muhammad completed 17 of 25 passes for 242 yards.  

The second ranked Thompson Warriors travel to Baldwin County to take on the Foley Lions in week two while James Clemens welcomes the Clay-Chalkville Cougars to Madison City Schools Stadium.
