Hoover, AL – The Hoover Bucs (5-2, 4-1) rolled to a 32-7 win against cross town rival Spain Park (1-6, 0-5) Friday night at Jaguar Stadium.

Backup quarterback Josh Lundy started the game for the Bucs as typical starter Robby Ashford served an opening drive suspension.  Lundy and the Hoover offense took the opening drive right into the Jaguar defense paying it off with a pass from just outside the Jag 10 yard line.  The recipient of Lundy’s score – M.J. Rogers, a Spain Park transfer.

Ashford finished the game with 179 yards through the air, completing 11 of 17 passes including three touchdown tosses, all to Auburn commit George Pickens.  Pickens hauled in nine receptions for 125 yards and three receptions.

Spain Park signal caller Mason Pronk completed 13 of 24 passes for 106 yards.  Michael Callens hauled in four grabs for 65 yards to lead the SPHS receiving corps.  Jalen Henderson lead the Jags on the ground with 55 yards on 13 carries.

Hoover travels to rival Vestavia Hills next week to take on the Rebels at Thompson Reynolds Stadium.  Spain Park travels south to Herdmont Park to take on the Oak Mountain Eagles.
