Hill named James Clemens women’s lacrosse coach

Madison, AL – The James Clemens High women’s lacrosse squad will be under new management when the Jets hit the turf this spring.  The Jets, who are coming off at 5th place finish in 2018, elevated assistant Marley McCaleb Hill to the team’s top spot heading into the 2019 season.

Before joining the JCHS staff in 2018, the Haymarket, Virginia native played NCAA Division I lacrosse at Old Dominion University, helping lead the Monarchs to an A-Sun Women’s Lacrosse Championship in 2016.   During her senior year at ODU she appeared in all of the Monarch’s 20 contests while making 12 starts and finishing  fourth on the team with 22 goals, including a pair of scores in Old Dominion’s A-Sun semifinal win over Furman.

Before playing collegially at ODU, Hill was a four-year letter winner at Battlefield High in northern Virginia where she was awarded Cedar Run District Player of the Year honors and was named an All-Metro selection for the D.C. area by the Washington Post.  During her senior year she scored 85 goals and notched 19 assists while leading the Bobcats to the Virginia state women’s lacrosse semifinals.

Hill is taking over a Jets squad who is coming off a 7-6 campaign in 2018.
