Pinson Valley’s Nix picks up National Quarterback of the Year Award

Phoenix, AZ – Pinson Valley Indians signal caller Bo Nix has picked up another prestigious award.  The Auburn Tigers signee has been named a recipient of the National Quarterback of the Year Award form the National Quarterback Club.  

Nix closed out his prep career by leading the Indians to back-to-back AHSAA titles while brining home championship game MVP honors both years.  The son of former Auburn great and Pinson Valley head coach Patrick Nix, compiled a 40-2 record over his last three seasons a a high school quarterback, helping lead the Indians and Scottsboro Wildcats to three region tiles and a 19-0 record in region play in addition to a pair of 6A state crowns.  

He was named the Gatorade Alabama Player of the Year after finishing 2018 with 3,802 yards passing, completing 267 of 446 throws and 50 touchdowns while running for 417 yards and seven scores on 54 attempts.  

Nix holds the AHSAA record for career total touchdowns with 161 and is the only player in Alabama high school football history to break the 12,000 yard mark in total offense.  

 The 6’2, 190 pound five star is listed as the top dual-threat quarterback in the class of of 2019 and is projected to compete for playing time as a true freshman on The Plains next fall.  

Nix will receive his hardware at the National Quarterback Club Awards dinner and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony January 19th in Scottsdale, AZ.
