Homewood varsity LAX scores historic win over Spain Park

Hoover, AL – The Homewood Patriots picked up their sixth win of the season and their first in program history over the defending state runner-up Spain Park Jaguars (1-2). The Patriots are ridding a four game in-state winning streak that includes a 13-5 win over rival Hoover, another program first.

The Patriots only looses through nine games, in Greg Wingo’s first year as head coach, are one point losses to Tennessee’s Houston High and Briarwood Christian (3-2) and an opening game defeat at the hands of the playoff bound Oak Mountain Eagles (4-2).

Homewood takes the next three weeks off before returning to action Saturday, April 6th on the road at Auburn‘s (3-2) Duck Samford Stadium. Spain Park faces the most challenging three game slate in the state with road games at unbeaten Mountain Brook (5-0), top ranked Vestavia Hills (4-0) and top five Oak Mountain (4-2) in consecutive contests.
