Oak Mtn women’s LAX knocks off top ranked Spain Park

Hoover, AL – The Oak Mountain Eagles women’s varsity lacrosse squad soared past the previously unbeaten and top ranked Spain Park Jaguars 19-6 Tuesday night at Bob Finley Field.

The victory improved the third ranked Lady Eagles to 9-1 overall, 8-1 in GBYLA play, while dropping the Jaguars to 8-1 with three games remaining before the postseason.

The only blemish on the Eagles record is a 12-10 defeat at the hands of the Vestavia Hills Lady Rebels (10-0), the lone remaining unbeaten team in the state.

The Eagles close out the regular season with a stretch of three contests in three days, beginning with a pair of games at Mountain Brook’s Spartan Stadium, Mountain Brook Green (4-3) on Tuesday, April 23rd followed by a showdown with Mountain Brook White (2-7) on the 24th. David Kiementz squad caps 2019 April 25 against the Hoover Bucs (3-5) at Herdmont Park.

Spain Park plays their last game at Jaguar Stadium Monday April 22nd against the undefeated Vestavia Hills Rebels (10-0) before closing out the season with road trips to Mountain Brook (4-3), and Auburn (7-3).
