Vestavia women’s Lax stretch winning streak to 28

Vestavia Hills, AL – The top ranked Vestavia Hills Rebels (13-0, 12-0) women’s varsity lacrosse squad closed out their second consecutive unbeaten regular season with a 22-5 defeat of the Auburn Tigers (7-4) Saturday afternoon at the Sicard Hollow Athletic Complex.

The win runs the Rebels consecutive win streak to 28 games. The defending state champs last defeat came at the hands of the Oak Mountain Eagles in the 2017 state title game.

Dennis Lipford’s Lady Rebels rounded out the regular season as the state’s lone unbeaten team while sitting atop the GBYLA statistically, scoring 231 goals while giving up a league low 42.

The Tigers close out the regular season Sunday, April 28th against the Spain Park Jaguars (8-2) at Duck Samford Stadium.

The GBYLA women’s varsity playoffs begin Sunday, May 5th.
