Vestavia claims 2019 women’s LAX title with OT win over Oak Mtn.

Birmingham, AL – The Vestavia Hill Rebels claimed their second consecutive Alabama high school women’s lacrosse state title in a thrilling 12-11 overtime win over the Oak Mountain Eagles Saturday afternoon at Birmingham-Southern College.

Oak Mountain closed out the 2019 season at 14-2. Both of the Eagles defeats came to the Rebels by a total of three points.

Dennis Lipford’s Lady Rebels 16-0 perfect season runs the Rebs winning streak to 31 straight. Vestavia’s last defeat on the lacrosse field came at the hands of the Oak Mountain Eagles, May 13th, 2017 in the state title game.
