Briarwood Christian downs John Carroll

Birmingham, AL – The Briarwood Christian Lions notched a 48-16 homecoming victory over region foe John Carroll Catholic Friday night at Lion’s Pride Stadium.

After starting the season 0-2 the the Lions have rattled off four consecutive wins to improve to 4-2, 3-1 in region play.

Freshman quarterback Christopher Vizzina passed for 120 yards, completing 10-of-13 throws and touchdown. Running back Luke Prewett lead the Lions on the ground with 137 yards and three scores on 26 carries while adding six receptions for 45 yards.

Cavaliers starting quarterback Jharad Johnson completed 11-of-26 passes for 40 yards and an interception before Nicholas Sellers began taking snaps late in the contest, tossing a pair of fourth quarter touchdown passes.

Matthew Forester’s Lions travel downtown next Friday to take on the Parker Thundering Hurd (3-3, 2-2) while the Cavs travel west to Pleasant Grove (5-1, 3-1) to take on the Spartans.
