AISA Football to begin as scheduled

Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) announced Thursday that its fall sports programs will begin as scheduled.

“In the coming days, the AISA will release safety protocols for fall sports and be available to answer any questions. Of course, as time progresses, safety protocols will likely need to change or be adjusted and we will need to be flexible as we proceed” Michael McLendon, AISA Executive Director

Football and volleyball team will be limited to competition against one opponent at a time until further notice which will put the breaks on jamborees and tournaments, likely including the Southeastern Independent School Association Kickoff Classic which is held annually at Montgomery’s Cramton Bowl.

AISA football and volleyball squads are open to begin practice July 27th with cross country slated to begin August 3rd.

The state’s largest association of private schools will kickoff its regular season Thursday, August 20th.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association announced that its member schools will begin their season as scheduled on Thursday afternoon as well.
