No. 3 Hoover blanks Gadsden City

Hoover, AL – The third ranked Hoover Bucs sailed to 4-0 on the season (2-0 in 7A region 3 play) with a 38-0 drubbing of the Gadsden City Titans (2-2, 0-2) Friday night at the Hoover Met. 

The Buccaneer offense pilled up over 400 yards while holding the Titans to 151 yards of total offense.  

The Buccaneer offense lit up the scoreboard eight minutes into first quarter as quarterback Josh Lundy connected with Ahamari Williams for a 40 yard score.  LaMarion McCammon made the most of a Gadsden City fumble on the next Bucs possession bolting into the endzone from just inside the Titan 20 putting Hoover up by two scores with two minutes and change remaining in the opening frame. 

A 38 yard Constantine Hontzas field goal, a one yard Dylan Pauley score and and a touchdown grab by Malik Thomas put the Bucs in control 31-0 heading into the locker room.  The game’s lone score after the break came courtesy of a 19 yard D.J. Black rushing strike. 

Bucs signal caller Josh Lundy finished the game with 276 yards and a pair of touchdowns through the air.  Malik Thomas lead the Hoover receiving corps with five catches for 78 yards.  

The Bucs will face fellow undefeated region foe Oak Mountain (4-0, 2-0) next Friday night at the Met.  Gadsden City will welcome the Spain Park Jaguars (2-2, 0-2) to Titan Stadium.
