Former Mountain Brook & Auburn running back enters the transfer portal

Auburn, AL – PrepsNet has learned that former Mountain Brook High School and Auburn University running back Harold Joiner has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

The former four star recruit and current redshirt sophomore appeared in both of the Tigers first two games of 2020 but failed to record a touch on offense.  After the departure of Auburn’s leading rusher from 2019, JaTarvious Whitlow, Joiner hoped to move his way up the Tigers depth chart but seemed to settle in as Gus Malzahn’s fifth option in the backfield.

Joiner closed out his career on The Plains with with six receptions for 128 yards and a score through the air along with 15 carries for 103 yards and a pair of scores on the ground.

The 6’3, 231 pound former Spartan was ranked as the fourth best player in the state of Alabama and the nation’s fifth highest rated running back coming out of high school. He held 32 Division I offers and chose Auburn over Alabama, USC, UCLA, Texas, LSU, Michigan State and Ole Miss.
