No. 3 Ramsay rocks John Carroll 47-6

Birmingham, AL – The Ramsay Rams overcame a slow start to take down John Carroll Catholic 47-6 Friday night at a soggy Pat Sullivan Field. 

The win improved the Rams, who are currently ranked third in class 5A, to 7-0 overall, 5-0 in region 5 play.  Ruben Nelson’s squad is in the drivers seat to claim the Region 5 title with a battle against No. 1 ranked Pleasant Grove looming on October 22nd.  

Ramsay quarterback Kamren Ivory finished the game with 29 yards through the air, completing 4-of-11 passes.  Christian Thomas lead the Rams on the ground rushing for 129 yards on nine attempts.

John Carroll signal caller Nicholas Sellers completed 12-of-30 throws for 125 yards with a touchdown and a pair of interceptions.  Ethan Curl was Sellers favorite target pulling down five catches for for 55 yards and scoring the Cavaliers lone touchdown. 

The loss slipped the Cavs to 3-4 (1-4)  with region games against Pleasant Grove (6-1, 5-0) and Wenonah (4-3, 3-2) remaining.  

Ramsay returns to action next Friday night on the road at region foe Fairfield (3-4, 2-3).  John Carrol welcomes the Pleasant Grove Spartans (6-1, 5-0) to Lakeshore Drive.
