Bart Sessions is leaving McAdory to takeover Alma Bryant program

McCalla, AL – After two seasons at the helm of the McAdory Yellow Jackets football program Bart Sessions is heading back to the Gulf Coast.  PrepsNet has learned that the gridiron veteran will be named the 10th head coach of the 7A Alma Bryant Hurricanes.

The Grand Bay native will replace former Alma Bryant head coach Doug Hoehn who announced his retirement in October after posting a 7-33 record over four seasons.   The Hurricanes are coming off a 3-7 campaign in 2020.

Sessions will be returning to Mobile County where he grew up and began his head coaching career.  He spent three years at the helm of the McGill-Toolen Catholic program, posting a 34-5 record including a trip to the 6A semifinals, a pair of region titles and a 20-1 record in region play from 2011 to 2013.

After leaving McGill, Sessions had head coaching stints at Tuscaloosa County (2016), Gadsden City (2017 & 2018) and McAdory (2019 & 2020).   He also spent time as an assistant at Spain Park, Prattville, Daphne, Davidson, Shaw and B.C. Rain.

In his last stop he lead the 6A McAdory Yellow Jackets to a 10-12 record including pair of trips to the postseason.

His career head coaching record currently stands at 52-39, including a 32-22 mark in region play, over eight seasons.

Sessions is expected to officially be approved by the Mobile County Board of Education on December 21st.
