Arab marches past Fort Payne 20-7

Fort Payne, AL – The Arab Arabian Knights took down 6A Region 7 foe Fort Payne for the first time since 2004 Friday night at Wildcat Stadium.  

The 20-7 victory marked the Knight’s second victory over the Cats in the team’s last 21 meetings.  The win improves Arab to 2-1, 1-0 in region play.  Fort Payne drops to 0-3 for the first time since 2016.  

Knights senior signal caller Ed Johnson turned in another impressive performance, passing for 213 yards including a pair of 23 yard touchdown passes to Spencer Strickland and Wes Johnson.  

Brody McCain was Johnson’s favorite target on the night hauling in four receptions for 77 yards, including a second quarter game tying touchdown grab.  Drake Franklin lead the Arabian Knights on the ground, rushing for 76 yards on 11 carries and a score.

Arab returns to action next Friday night, welcoming the Scottsboro Wildcats (1-2) to the SportsPlex.  Fort Payne travels to Springville to take on the 1-1 Tigers.
