Oneonta picks up program win #700

The Oneonta Redskins joined the 700 win club, knocking off 6A Scottsboro 35-14 Friday night in front of their home crowd at Gilbreth Stadium.  

Oneonta has posted a 700-360-33 record, all time, including five state titles and 19 region crowns since fielding their first football team in 1912.  

The Redskins are the third Alabama high school football program to eclipse the 700 win mark joining T.R. Miller and Fayette County who both reached 700 earlier this season.  

Oneonta currently stands at 7-1, 3-1 in Class 4A, Region 6 play, this season under fourth year head coach Phil Phillips.  

T.R. Miller has posted the most wins in Alabama high school football history with 704 followed by Fayette County with 703.  The Deshler Tigers are 19 games away from joining the 700 win club.
