Auburn High offensive lineman commits to Tigers

Auburn, AL – Auburn High School offensive lineman Drew Bobo didn’t have to look far to make his college choice.  The 6-foot-5, 300 pound tackle announced that he will be signing with Bryan Harsin’s Auburn Tigers Sunday afternoon.

Bobo, the son of AU offensive coordinator Mike Bobo, chose Auburn over Georgia, Georgia Tech, Oregon, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina and Virginia among others.

The three star prospect has primarily played offensive tackle for Auburn High but spent some time at center, a position that has been projected to play at the next level.

He is ranked as the 55th rated offensive lineman in the country and 27th best in-state prospect in the 2020 class by 247 Sports. He played his sophomore season at Colorado’s Resurrection Christian School while his father Mike served as the head coach at Colorado State. He spent his junior season at Columbia’s Hammond School while Mike served as the offensive coordinator at the University of South Carolina before transferring to Auburn high prior to the 2021 season.

Bobo is Auburn’s 12th commit for the 2022 recruiting class joining fellow Auburn High teammate, linebacker Powell Gordon who pledged to the Tigers in late February.

Fifth ranked Auburn High returns to action Friday night, on the road, at Smith’s Station before closing out the season with home contests against region foe Enterprise and national power IMG Academy (FL).
