Alabaster, AL – After leading the Warriors through a winless 2014 campaign, Mike Montgomery has been relieved of his duties as Thompson High’s head football coach and assistant athletic director.  Montgomery will remain with the Alabaster city school system as Thompson’s head track coach.

Coach Montgomery, Thompson’s first African-American head football coach, compiled a career record of 7-23 over three years.

Montgomery, who began serving as a THS offensive assistant in 2006, brought some continuity to to the Warrior program following one year stints by head coaches Bruce Hill (1-9) and Caleb Ross (2-8).

Alabaster City School’s Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers confirmed that the process to find Montgomery’s replacement will begin immediately.
