Vigor Hires Foley’s Deric Scott

Mobile, AL – New Vigor Head Coach Deric Scott returns to the Wolves after serving at Foley for the past eight seasons.

Scott will be taking over a Vigor Wolves squad that is coming off a 5-5 season under former head coach Ashley Johnson.

A former Southern Mississippi linebacker, Scott began his coaching career at Alma Bryant in 2002.   After one season with the Hurricanes he accepted the defensive coordinators position at Vigor, serving the Wolves until 2007. Scott left Vigor to join Todd Watson’s staff at Foley, serving for two seasons as the Lions defensive line coach before being promoted to defensive coordinator, a position he as held for the past six seasons.

This will be the 36 year old Monroeville native’s first head coaching position.  Scott’s twin brother Eric is currently on staff at Saraland.
