Leeds, AL – Three-star quarterback TaDarryl Marshall committed to Tennessee during a Tuesday ceremony at Leeds High School, where he will be a senior in the fall.

The 6-foot, 180-pound Marshall picked the Vols over Alabama, Auburn, Georgia Tech and Samford.

“The recruiting process has been very challenging the past two-and-a-half years of my high-school career, and in my senior year I want to think about my future team and my high-school team.”

The MVP of last season’s Alabama Class 4A state championship game, Marshall completed 50 percent of his pass attempts for 1,252 yards, 11 touchdowns and four interceptions in 2014. Marshall also rushed for 1,368 yards, averaging over nine yards per carry.

Though he plays quarterback in high school, it’s possible that Tennessee will use him primarily at wide receiver or defensive back.

Marshall, who visited Knoxville for Tennessee’s spring game on Saturday according to 247Sports.com, is the ninth commitment for coach Butch Jones’ 2016 recruiting class.
