Rain Delays Don’t Slow Down Bucs in Doubling up Manatee

Josh Niblett’s Hoover Bucs had no problem taking care of business against another out-of-state power Friday night at the Hoover Met.  Neither the Over the Mountain rain or the Hurricanes from Bradenton could trip up the defending 7A champs.

Playing in the State of Alabama for the first time this season, the Buccaneer offense lit up the scoreboard right out of the gate.  First year starting quarterback, Christopher Vaccarella, took the Bucs opening offensive play 42 yards for a score only a minute into the contest.

The Bucs lead 28-14 going into a the half, a halftime that lasted until 9:30 p.m. due to weather delays.

The Buccaneer defense took over after the long break, holding the Hurricanes to a single touchdown in the second half.

Up Next: Hoover travels to Mountain Brook next Friday to take on a 1-0 Spartans squad in a 7A Region 3 match-up.
