Madison Academy Head Football Coach Eric Cohu to Coach Israel National Team

Madison Academy Head Coach, Dr. Eric Cohu, has accepted the offensive coordinator and international ambassador position with the Israel Football League’s national team.

Cohu, who has lead the Mustangs to a 87-12 record including three state championships and six regional titles, has worked as a summer consultant to the Israeli team since 2007.

The Mount Vernon, Mo native accepted the Mustangs head coaching position in 2009 after serving as an assistant at Lynchburg, VA’s Liberty Christian Academy.  He served as head coach at Jackson Academy (TN) from 2002-2005 amassing a 38-12 record.  Cohu’s carreer head coaching record stands at 125-24 (83.9%).

Perhaps Cohu’s most impressive stat at Madison Academy is his 50-1 record in region play.  The Mustang’s lone region loss, in the Cohu era, came at the hands of the Sardis Lions in 2011.

Dr. Cohu was selected to lead the Alabama North/South All-Star game in 2010 and served on the staff of the 2014 US Army All-America Bowl.

Cohu will be instrumental in the search for Madison Academy’s next head coach according to a release from the school.
