Arab downs Douglas in route to school scoring record

Arab, AL – The Arab Arabian Knights improved to 6-3, 4-2 in 5A region 7  play. with a 67-6 win over Marshall County foe Douglas (1-9, 0-6).  The lopsided victory set a school record for points scored and margin of victory.

Despite being located only 20 miles apart, this was the first meeting between the Eagles and the Arabian Knights.  Douglas notched their only victory in 2016 at 3A Brindlee Mountain (0-8).

The Arabian Knights travel to rival Guntersville (5-3, 3-3) Friday night.  An Arab win will secure the third playoff spot in 5A region 7 while knocking the Wildcats out of the post season.  Guntersville is riding a three game winning streak over the Knights.  Arab last tasted victory, over their heated rival, in a 14-0 shutout, in 2012 in Chorba-Lee Stadium.

The Wildcats hold a 55-30 all-time record against the Knights.  The rivals first meet on the gridiron in 1922.

Douglas will also remain in county, hosting the winless Boaz Pirates (0-8).
