Former Bama standout Ardarius Stewart donates new lids to Fultondale

Fultondale, AL – The Fultondale Wildcats will be sporting the most advanced headgear available when they kick off the 2017 season, courtesy of one of their most accomplished alumni.

Former Wildcats quarterback and current New York Jet Ardarius Stewart recently gifted his alma mater with $15,000 in new, state of the art, Schutt F7 helmets.

The new white lids will compliment the Wildcats traditional orange helmets and feature FHS’ script “Cats” logo.

Fultondale will reportedly be the first high school program in the state to hit the gridion in the new headgear.

The NFL and select NCAA programs will begin wearing the redesigned lids which feature football’s most advanced impact absorption system this fall.

“No one really does anything for Fultondale except the Fultondale community”, Stewart said, “I’m a part of this community and I just wanted to show them that I’m standing strong with them”.

After graduating from Fultondale in 2013 Stewart committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide.  In his three seasons in Tuscaloosa, the All-SEC selection compiled 1,713 receiving yards on 129 receptions and 13 touchdowns before forgoing his senior season to enter the NFL draft.

In April Stewart became the first Fultondale Wildcat to reach the National Football League being selected 79th overall by the New York Jets.

Head Coach Richie Busby’s defending 3A region 6 champion Fultondale squad will debut their new lids on August 31st at home against the Tarrant Wildcats.
