Hoover, Central-Phenix City football named in National Top 100

Birmingham, AL – Two Alabama gridiron powers have cracked another respected national high school football poll.

The Hoover Bucs and Central-Phenix City Red Devils are ranked in MaxPreps’ National Top 100 pre-season list for 2017.

MaxPreps Top 100 lists the top prep programs going into the 2017 season in no particular order.  The Bucs and Devils were also listed in High School Football America’s Pre-Season Top 100 earlier in the summer.

Hoover kicks off 2017 against fellow top 100 squad Grayson High (GA) just east of Atlanta and close out the season, at home, against national powerhouse IMG Academy (FL).   In addition to opening and closing the regular season with national top 10 teams, the Bucs face the surging Thompson Warriors, Mountain Brook Spartans and arch rivals Spain Park and Vestavia Hills in 7A region 3 play.

The Central Red Devils open up the season at home against North Alabama power Bob Jones before key match-ups with Auburn, Opelika and Enterprise.  The Devils step outside of AHSAA play September 15, welcoming Lakeland, Florida’s Kathleen High to Garrett-Harrison Stadium.
