Former Leeds standout transfers to UAB

Birmingham, AL – Former Leeds Green Wave standout TaDarryl Marshall will be wearing different colors on the college gridiron next fall.  This week, Marshall announced his decision to transfer from FCS Samford University to Bill Clark’s UAB Blazers.

Marshall hauled in 28 receptions for 274 yards and two touchdowns during his sophomore campaign at Samford.

Before switching to receiver, Marshall shined as a dual-threat quarterback for the Leeds Green Wave.  During his time at Leeds he completed 54 of 96 passes for 912 yards and 12 touchdowns, through the air, while rushing for 951 yards and 12 scores on the ground.  He also added a receiving touchdown and returned five kicks into the endzone in route to being named a two time All-State and All-Metro selection.   During four years at Leeds, he helped lead the Green Wave to back-to-back 4A state titles and was named the MVP of the 2014 AHSAA 4A state championship game.

Marshall originally committed to Tennessee before landing at Samford.
