Central-Phenix City ranked 10th in last HSFA National Top 100

Birmingham, AL – The 2018 AHSAA 7A state champion Central-Phenix City Red Devils are ranked among the nation’s best.   The Devils claimed the No. 10 spot in the final High School Football America National Top 100 rankings.   

Central capped 2018 at 14-0, claiming their second state title in program history with at 52-7 blowout victory over nationally ranked Thompson at Jordan-Hare Stadium.    

7A Coach of the Year Jamey DuBose’s squad powered through 2018 scoring 578 points while giving up 108.  The Devils defense gave up a touchdown or less in nine of their fourteen contests while putting up at least 42 points in 10 games in route to their fifth consecutive region title and second 14-0 season in the school’s 120 year history.  

The 7A runner-up Thompson Warriors (11-2) came in a the No. 55 spot while the Hoover Bucs (9-4) came in as the third Alabama squad to crack the top 100, finishing at No. 66.
