Sessions out as Gadsden City head coach

Gadsden, AL – After two seasons at the helm of the Gadsden City football program, Bart Sessions is out as the Titans head football coach.

Assistant Ali Smith will serve as the Titans interim head coach until a preeminent replacement is named.

During his tenure in Gadsden Session lead the Titans to a pair of 3-7 seasons, missing the postseason in back-to-back years for the first time in program history.

Before taking over at Gadsden City he served as the head coach at 7A Tuscaloosa County for one season, guiding the Wildcats to a 2-8 record and 0-7 mark in region play.

The majority of Sessions’ head coaching experience comes from leading South Alabama powerhouse McGill-Toolen Catholic to a 34-5 record, including a pair of region titles and a trip to the AHSAA 7A semi-finals in 2013. He has a pair of state championships under he is belt, helping lead the Prattville Lions and Daphne Trojans to titles as an assistant. He also helped guide the Spain Park Jaguars to their only Super Seven appearance when he served as Shawn Rainey’s defensive coordinator in 2015.

Sessions is expected to remain as a physical education teacher at Gadsden City until the end of the 2019 academic year.
