Grant Reynolds resigns as Madison Academy head football coach

Madison, AL – After leading the Madison Academy Mustangs football program for three seasons, head coach Grant Reynolds is stepping down. The Tennessee native is walking away from the North Alabama power to accept the top job at Chattanooga’s East Hamilton High School.

Prior to taking over the Mustang program in 2016, Reynolds spent 10 seasons at Chattanooga private school Boyd-Buchanan.

“I am very thankful for my time at Madison Academy as head coach and appreciated the opportunity to lead one of the best programs in the state.” Reynolds said in a statement. “Chattanooga is home for us and this opportunity allows me to be closer to our immediate family.”

During his three seasons in Madison, Reynolds lead the Mustangs to a 28-10 record including a pair of region titles and a trip to the AHSAA 4A state title game in 2016.

The Mustangs are coming off a 10-2 campaign in 2018. After dropping their opener to Chattanooga’s McCallie School, the Mustangs rattled off nine straight victories before falling to eventual state champion Central-Clay County in the second round of the post season.
