Thompson rolls past Foley 42-13

Alabaster, AL – The fourth ranked Thompson Warriors (2-0) dispatched their second consecutive opponent from the gulf coast with ease Friday night, sending the Foley Lions (0-2) back to Baldwin County with a 42-13 loss.

Thompson quarterback Sawyer Pate completed passes of 14, 80 and 12 yards to receiver Michael Pettway and connected with James Roberson for a first half score from inside the Lion five yard line. Running backs Brandon Franklin and Jermel Gaiters each added rushing scores from inside the 10 in route to a 467 yard Warriors offensive explosion.

Pate finished the night with 181 yards, connecting on 12 of 14 passes and four scores. Pettway lead the Warriors receiving corps with three grabs for 115 yards and three TD’s. Gaiters pilled up 84 yards on 18 rushing attempts and a score.

Mark Freeman’s Warriors return to action Friday night, welcoming the top ranked Hoover Bucs (2-0) to Alabaster. Foley plays host to the 8th ranked Theodore Bobcats (2-0) at Ivan Jones Stadium.
