No. 1 ranked Thompson takes down Spain Park

Hoover, AL – The top ranked Thompson Warriors (6-0, 4-0) remained unbeaten with a 47-23 win over Spain Park (2-4, 1-3) Friday night at Bob Finley Field.

Thompson quarterback Sawyer Pate completed 20-of-27 passes for for 246 yards and four touchdowns through the air while rushing for 40 yards and a score on the ground. The senior signal caller connected with Michel Pettway for three first half scores of 20, 7 and 55 yards. Brandon Franklin carried the ball nine times for 46 yards and a score while Pettway paced the Warrior receiving corps with 145 receiving yards on eight grabs.

Jaguars QB Harrison Barker passed for 326 yards, completing 31-of-45 throws with a pair of touchdowns and three interceptions. Jaylen Ward snagged eight Barker passes for 80 yards, Cooper Kelly added five grabs for 70 yards.

Thompson welcomes region rival Vestavia Hills (5-1, 3-1) to Warrior Stadium next Friday night. Spain Park travels to The Met to take on arch rival Hoover (5-1, 3-1).
