Lanett QB Kristian Story named 2019 Mr. Football
Montgomery, AL – Lannett Panters quarterback and Alabama Crimson Tide signee Kristian Story took home the Alabama Sports Writers Association’s 2019 Mr. Football award Wednesday afternoon in Montgomery.
The 6’1, 210 pound signal caller is coming off a record setting senior season which including leading Lanett to a 14-0 record and the program’s second 1A state title. He was named the class 1A Super 7 Most Valuable Player and the Gatorade Alabama Player of the Year while notching new AHSAA career records for total offense and touchdowns accounted for. He capped his prep career with 13,219 yards of total offense and 175 scores.
Story became the first Lanett Panther to take home Alabama’s top prep gridiron honor in the award’s 37 year history. He is also the first Crimson Tide signee to win the award since Daphne’s T.J. Yeldon was honored in 2011.
