Homewood varsity LAX moves to 3-0 with 12-11 win over Auburn

Homewood, AL – The Homewood Patriots scored a huge early season win, 12-11 over the previously unbeaten Auburn Tigers, Sunday afternoon in West Homewood. The victory marked the first time the Patriots have taken down the Tigers in the team’s last seven meetings.

With the win, Greg Wingo’s Patriots move into the early season Alabama varsity lacrosse drivers seat, sitting one game ahead of defending state champion Mountain Brook and a pair of games in front of traditional power Vestavia Hills.

The loss slipped the Tigers to 1-1 after notching a 17-1 season opening win over the Briarwood Christian Lions (0-3).

Auburn returns back to Birmingham Saturday, February 22nd to take on the Oak Mountain Eagles (1-0) at Herdmont Park before retuning to Duck Samford to host Thompson (0-1) Sunday, February 23rd.

Homewood travels to north Shelby County to face the rebuilding Briarwood Christian Lions (0-3) Friday night at Lions Pride Stadium.
