Bo Culver named East Lawrence head coach

Trinity, AL – A little over a month after former East Lawrence head coach James Moore resigned to take a position in Georgia the Eagles have landed their next leader on the gridiron. The Eagles announced Bo Culver as their 19th head football coach Monday afternoon.

Culver comes to the 3A program after spending a year at traditional 6A power Hartselle where he lead the Tigers to a 4-7 campaign in his lone season in Morgan County.

Before taking over the Hartselle program in 2019, Culver spent three seasons at Phil Campbell guiding the Bobcats to a 9-21 record before taking over the Haleyville Lions squad in 2014. He lead the 4A Lions to a 25-10 mark over three seasons, including a region title in his final season, before moving to 4A power Deshler. During a pair of seasons at DHS he lead the Tigers a 16-10 mark and a trip to the 2018 state title game.

Culver’s career record as a head coach currently stands at 54-48 including six consecutive playoff births, a 29-27 mark in region play and a 6-6 record in the in the AHSAA postseason including a Super 7 appearance.

He takes over a East Lawrence program who hasn’t experanced a winning season since 1997 and hasn’t tasted the postseason since 2008.
