Hoover replaces road game in Georgia with home opener against Dothan
Hoover, AL – The Hoover Bucs didn’t waste any time filling the hole in their schedule created when Georgia delayed the start of their football season earlier this week.
The Bucs will welcome the Dothan Wolves to Hoover on August 21st. The contest will mark the Wolves first game in class 7A since the consolidation of Northview and Dothan High in 2018.
It has yet to be determined if the game will be played at the Hoover Met or on campus at Buccaneer Stadium.
Hoover was scheduled to be the first Alabama team to participate in Georgia’s annual Corky Kell Kickoff Classic in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. After a couple of schedule and venue changes the Bucs contest against the Lowndes Vikings was eventually scrapped.
Dothan, who had three games scheduled against teams from the Peach State moved their pre-seaon game with Park Crossing to week two, replacing the Wolves scheduled road trip to Bainbridge, GA.
