Brooks Dampeer leaves St. Clair Co. for Amory, MS

Odenville, AL – After two seasons at the helm of the St. Clair County Saints football program Brooks Dampeer is returning to his home state of Mississippi.

The University of North Alabama alum was officially approved as the next head football coach at Amory High School in northeast Mississippi Thursday evening.

Dampeer replaces Allen Glenn who resigned to take the head coaching position at Petal (MS) High School after leading Amory to a 9-2 mark in 2020.

He will be joining his brother Baylor who is the head football coach at nearby Houston (MS) High School.  Dampeer’s father is the former head coach at Mississippi’s Saltillo High.

During two seasons in Odenville Dampeer lead the Saints to a combined 1-19 record.  Prior to being elevated to head coach at St. Clair County in 2019 he spent time as the offensive coordinator at 7A Daphne and as head coach at Pell City from 2013-2015.  He lead the Panthers to a 16-16 record including a pair of 6A playoff births and a 9-10 mark in region play over three seasons.

His head coaching record currently stands at 17-35, with a pair of postseason appearances, over five seasons.

Dampeer will officially be introduced as the Panthers head coach Friday afternoon in Amory.
