Hoover varsity LAX slips past rival Spain Park 11-10

Hoover, AL – In what was arguably the most dramatic come-from-behind win in Hoover lacrosse history, the 3rd ranked Bucs closed out the regular season with a 11-10 victory over arch rival Spain Park Thursday night at Buccaneer Stadium.

After leading 5-3 at the half, the Bucs fell behind by four goals in the middle of the 4th.  Hoover stormed back with six unanswered goals in the last four minutes of the contest including the game winner by Mercer University signee Jackson Hirschy with 1:00 remaining.

The Bucs closed out one of their best regular seasons in recent memory, highlighted by wins over defending state champion Mountain Brook, traditional power Vestavia Hills and the cross-town rival Jaguars.

Hoover will continue to march toward their fifth state championship in the GBYLA playoffs which will begin April 24th.

Spain Park closes out the regular season Sunday afternoon against the No. 1 ranked and undefeated Auburn Tigers Sunday afternoon at Jaguar Stadium.
