P.J. Wright named St. Clair County head football coach

Odenville, AL – The St. Clair County Saints have landed their next head football coach.  The 5A program officially named Ardmore’s P.J. Wright their 20th leader on the gridiron Tuesday afternoon.

The Birmingham area native takes over for Brooks Dampeer who resigned after the 2020 season to take the same position at Mississippi’s Amory High School.  Dampeer lead the Saints to a 1-19 record over the past two seasons.

Wright has spent the past three seasons at the helm of the Ardmore Tigers.  He has lead the 5A program to a combined 11-19 record including a 3-17 mark in region play over the past three seasons.

Before accepting his first head coaching position at Ardmore in 2018, the University of West Alabama alum spent the entirety of his coaching career in the gulf coast area serving as an assistant at Davidson, Gulf Shores and Spanish Fort.
