Ramsay men’s basketball assistant coach Brian Miller leaves for Central Phenix

Phenix City, AL – Ramsay basketball assistant Brian Miller is leaving for a job on Charles Burkett’s new staff at Central-Phenix City.

Miller, spent the past five seasons on Denton Johnson’s staff, after one season as head girls coach at Pinson Valley. As a former collegiate level coach, he has been regarded as a coach who is talented and passionate about developing players.

“Words cannot express how honored and excited I am to join Coach Burkett’s staff and represent Central High School,” Miller said in a statement.”

Miller will be joining veteran coach, Charles Burkett. Prior to Central Phenix, Burkett spent 1 season at Athens, and 14 seasons at Hoover High school.

“As I look forward to this next career opportunity, I want to thank God for the great players, administration, and community I have been blessed to work with during my time at Ramsay High School.”

While at Ramsay, Miller helped the Rams to three Final 4 appearances, and in 2021, Ramsay reached the 5A State Championship.

Miller graduated from Jacksonville State University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education.
