Daphne High School to install artificial turf at Jubilee Stadium

Daphne, AL – Major upgrades have been announced for Daphne High School’s Jubilee Stadium.  The school announced that the natural grass at Trojan Field will be replaced by artificial turf following the 2021 football season.

Progress Bank and other field sponsors will help fund the new playing surface which will be the first of its kind in the Baldwin County Public School System.

“It’s an exciting time for Daphne High School,” Daphne athletic director and head football coach Kenny King told AL.com .“It will allow us more flexibility when it’s raining and also affords for more of our sports to be able to use the field more often. It seems like everyone is always struggling to find field space on our campus, and this will relieve some of that stress.”

Construction is slated to begin following the 7A program’s final home football game and is expected to be completed by March 2022.

Stadium playing surfaces at Gardendale, Arab and Russell County high schools are currently being upgraded from natural grass to artificial turf.
