Chris Musso takes over Oak Grove Tigers football program

Oak Grove, AL – Chris Musso has officially been named the Oak Grove Tigers 22nd head football coach.  

The Locust Fork native spent the last three seasons at the helm of the Haleyville Lions football program.  He lead the Lions to a combined 15-14 record including an 8-4 mark and a trip to the second round of the AHSAA Class 4A postseason in 2020.  Before taking over at Haleyville in 2019, he spent six seasons at his alma mater where he guided Locust Fork to a 34-29 mark including three playoff berths and a 22-17 record in region play.  His first head coaching stop was a five year stint at Birmingham’s John Carroll Catholic.  Musso’s Caviler squads posted a 23-29 record including back-to-back Class 5A playoff appearances in 2008-2009.

Musso’s career head coaching record currently stands at 72-75 with six postseason appearances over 15 seasons.  

He takes over for Zac Glaze who lead the 4A Tigers to pair of 2-8 records in 2020 and 2021.  

Oak Grove will join a redrawn AHSAA Class 4A, Region 5 with Cordova, Corner, Curry, Dora, Haleyville, Hamilton and Northside in 2022.
